Boston Atlas Hickory is a joint venture between Construction Company Hickory and real estate investment groups Boston Global and Atlas Investment Corporation that have applied to develop a $ 130 million gateway hotel tower near the airport in Sydney.
This joint venture was formed to house the DA under “Boston Atlas Hotelsâ. The app offers a 12 story hotel located at 210 O’Riordan Street, Mascot.
The proposed development is located at the âgatewayâ to and from Sydney Australian Airport, at the prominent corner of O’Riordan and Robey streets and Baxter Road. The site is one of the last freehold lots available in the region, and notably one of the closest to the airport, just 850m away on foot.
Designed by renowned architects Rothelowman, the proposal is to develop a 224-room hotel with a dedicated rooftop sky lounge, offering a unique arrival experience to guests. Plans include a rooftop bar and dining areas, with views of Sydney Airport runways and the CBD.
The proposed hotel would include fitness and wellness facilities, conference rooms and meeting spaces, as well as approximately 132 surface parking spaces. A commercial showroom, branding and advertising spaces are also outlined in the plans.
If approved, Hickory plans to begin construction on the hotel in August 2022. Completion is slated for March 2024, when domestic and international travel is expected to return to pre-pandemic levels.
Michael Argyrou, Director of Hickory said: âWe are delighted to be working with Boston Global and Atlas to deliver this premium hotel development, which will provide first-class access to Sydney Airport.
The project will provide exceptional amenities to the region and welcome domestic and international travelers when completed in 2024. â
Alexander Rodakis, founder and director of Atlas said, âIn our first partnership together, we are delighted to have reached this historic milestone alongside our strategic partners Hickory and Boston Global.
As we come out of these tough times, this project has represented an opportunity to secure a well-located site with great potential and an investment in our local economy.
This project is a significant development for the region, with a high quality offering in an important gateway location, which will be seen by international and domestic travelers both inside and outside of Sydney Airport .
We look forward to delivering an iconic building, serving Australia’s busiest airport.
Corey Cooney, Managing Director of Boston Global, said, âBoston Global is delighted to deliver a versatile luxury hotel right next to Sydney Airport. This is an essential infrastructure within the growing airport.
