Construction of the Sterilite Street for Tractor Supply is approaching the end point.

NAVARRE – A major road extension project is approaching the finish line in western Stark County to accommodate a new retail distribution center.

Extension work from Sterilite Street SE to Fohl Street SW began in the spring and is expected to be completed by the end of September, Navarre administrator Zachary Wisselgren said. The opening date of the road has not been fixed.

“There is still a top coat (of asphalt) left and the project is pretty much on schedule,” Wisselgren said, adding that the installation of storm sewers and gutters, as well as an extension of the water pipe. water, are part of the overall effort.

Tractor Supply is building an over 895,000 square foot warehouse at 3001 Sterilite St. NE on a nearly 117 acre parcel formerly known as Stark County Farm. The site is now called Prospect Park Industrial Park.

The company is expected to employ around 375 people at the facility, which is expected to be completed in fall 2022. Merchandise could enter and exit the site by the end of next year.

The new road is expected to span 3,230 feet, or approximately 0.62 miles.

The road connection will help heavy semi-trailer trucks transport cargo to and from the warehouse.

Road construction continues on the Sterilite Street SE extension to Fohl Street SW in Navarre. The road will support a new tractor supply warehouse.

United Earthworks of Deerfield has been hired for the road extension project. The $ 2.2 million effort is primarily funded by a $ 1.65 million grant from the Ohio Development Services Agency, as well as approximately $ 220,000 from the Ohio Department of Transportation.

Navarre Mayor Bob Benson said the addition is absolutely necessary and will be of economic benefit to the region.

“I often drive along the road (construction area) and it looks pretty good,” he said. “It will be good to have done the project.”
