Ghaziabad: The National Green Tribunal has formed a committee whose members include officials from the Union Environment Ministry, Central and Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Commissions and the Ghaziabad District Magistrate to inspect construction sites across the city and report violations of environmental standards.
The committee was asked to table its report within three months.

NGT bench led by President Judge Adarsh Kumar Goel asked senior officials of the Ministry of the Environment and the pollution control board to conduct an audit of the National Impact Assessment Authority on the Environment (SEIAA) to determine the frequency with which such violations occur.
He asked the committee to visit the site and interact with stakeholders to check the status of compliance. Based on the findings, statutory authorities may take corrective action, including stopping the creation of third party rights and other construction activities if it is found that the laws have been followed, the said. court.
