Ram Tool Construction Supply Co., a local distributor of specialty building materials based in Birmingham, has been acquired by White Cap Supply Holdings in Georgia. Read on for all the details.

Founded and based in Birmingham since 1967, Ram Tool is an East Coast and Midwest construction supplies distribution company. Over the past half century, Ram Tool has grown from a start-up supplier to a massive company with a national presence, serving the material and equipment needs of job sites. For example, in 2012, Ram Tool acquired Marco Supply, Inc., adding Marco’s 12 branches to Ram Tool’s existing 18.

Acquired by Georgia-based White Cap Supply Holdings

December 1, White Cap Supply Holdings, LLC announced that they have entered into an agreement to acquire Ram Tool. While the combined business will be led by White Cap CEO John Stegeman and Chairman Alan Sollenberger. Page Naftel, President of Ram Tool, will join White Cap as Director of Sales.

So what does the acquisition mean for those who use Ram Tool and White Cap? According to White Cap President Alan Sollenberger, the deal will allow the company to increase its products, services and locations by combining the expertise of two knowledgeable teams.

“White Cap and Ram Tool pursue the same mission of providing knowledgeable, customer-centric service to professional contractors for all specialty construction and concrete accessory needs. White Cap and Ram Tool have an aligned culture focused on service and relationship building, which makes us excited for whatever is to come with our suit.

Neither White Cap nor Ram Tool will see any immediate changes to their services. Instead, the two companies will begin to integrate their services slowly and in a targeted fashion over time.
